MEET THE TEAM
Bethan is a Development Assistant for a drama production company in Cardiff. She is a fluent Welsh speaker and is experienced in fundraising and event planning. She is passionate about her local area and is keen to ensure that the Wetlands becomes an area which is accessible to everyone to enjoy, to learn about and be proud of.
Jayne is a primary school teacher in a local school with an extensive knowledge and experience in the new Curriculum for Wales. She is passionate about local community and projects that bring the community together and protecting the environment for future generations.
Kath is highly experienced in the financial, building and project management industry having spent the last 12 years internationally fundraising and campaigning for the recycle, reduce and reuse project. She gets positive energy from being in nature and with animals and that’s why she is passionate about
this project.
Molly is a DJ, presenter and Station Co-ordinator for a radio station working with young people. She likes to turn her hand to all things creative and likes to try new things. As an alumni of the Future Generations Academy, Molly has spoken publicly about things like climate change, young people’s involvement in the future and how Wales can lead the way. The Wetlands is an area that she is very passionate about and tried to showcase this via our social media channels bilingually.
Neil is our resident nature expert at the Wetlands. Having lived in Maes Y Cynon for most of his life he has never lost the love of the outdoor life. He is a passionate wildlife enthusiast and his knowledge of all species that live in the Wetlands is next to none. With 35 years experience working in the forestry he loves everything to do with wildlife and his ambition now is to help preserve our wonderful Wetlands.
Tyler works in a nursery and has an extensive knowledge of early years development and working with children. She is passionate about local community and conservation and when the opportunity arose for her to be part of our committee and community to help protect not just the future cygnets and swans but to protect all the wildlife that resides there, she decided it was too good an opportunity to miss.
